RiversSOS Alliance
Some of the member groups which make up RiversSOS, around forty environmental and community groups concerned with the wrecking of rivers in New South Wales by mining operations. Rivers SOS calls on the NSW government to mandate a safety zone of at least 1 kilometre around all rivers in the state, to protect them from further permanent damage through the effects of mining under, or too close to, river beds.
Rising Tide
Rising Tide Australia is a grassroots Newcastle group taking action against the causes of anthropogenic climate change and for equitable, just, effective, and sustainable solutions to the crisis. They are committed to the principals of Non-violent Direct Action, part of the global Rising Tide climate justice movement, located in the biggest coal port in the cosmos.
Caroona Coal Action Group
Caroona Coal Action Group (CCAG) represents a country community concerned that subsidence longwall mining will damage the underground aquifers, the life blood of the food and fibre production, on the world class Liverpool Plains, near Gunnedah in NSW.
Environmental Defender's Office (EDO)
The Australian Network of Environmental Defenders Offices provide legal representation and advice, take an active role in environmental law reform and policy formulation, and offer a significant education program designed to facilitate public participation in environmental decision making. Each state's EDO is dedicated to protecting the environment in the public interest.
